“It’s pure luck (and a great doctor) that it was found so soon,” he added. “That’s the good news.” The “bad news,” however, was that Manilow would have to cancel a series of January concerts to undergo surgery and recover.
But overall, the star said her prognosis was good, sharing, “Doctors don’t think it’s spread and I’m having tests to confirm their diagnosis. So that’s it. No chemo. No radiation. Just chicken soup and reruns of I Love Lucy.”
He apologized for having to reschedule his January shows, but promised his legion of Fan-ilows that he would be in tip-top shape when he returned to his residency at his “home away from home,” the Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino, over Valentine’s Day weekend.
Remaining optimistic, Manilow said, “Something tells me that February weekend is going to be one hell of a party.”
