Two young bears escaped their enclosure in a United Kingdom wildlife park and devoured the one -week food store before falling asleep, the park said Tuesday.

Mish and Lucy, both four years old, left their enclosure at Wildwood Devon in southwest England on Monday afternoon.

The couple went directly to their food store where they made fun of the snacks, including seven -day honey supply, according to a statement. The Park released a video of Lucy devouring food and “wearing very satisfied with itself.”

The Bears “did not represent a threat to the public at any time”, although the visitors on the site were escorted to a safe building as caution.

During the one -hour drama, the bears were “continuously monitored both on the ground and through CCTV” until the guardians returned them to their enclosure and quickly “fell asleep,” Wildwood added.

“Our experienced maintenance team immediately acted, after established security protocols and successfully used the memory training to encourage both bears back to their enclosure without the need for any intervention,” said the park.

The police were at the scene and an investigation was being carried out to determine how the animals managed to explode. The park said that an “operating error” allowed the Bears to escape, without elaborating.

“This was an isolated incident, and we are carrying out a complete internal investigation to understand exactly how it happened and to ensure that there are solid measures to avoid recurrence,” the park wrote on social networks. “While the structural integrity of the bear enclosure remains without compromises, we take any extremely seriously operational period.”

The park, which covers 40 acres of gardens and forests, houses a variety of wildlife that includes brown bears, wolves and Arctic Newses.
