Chappell Roan made a surprising return to the Grammy Awards while wearing a nude dress on the red carpet ahead of Sunday’s ceremony.

Roan, who took home the award for Best New Artist at last year’s show, stepped out in a sheer burgundy Mugler hooded dress before unfolding the dress, revealing that it was apparently held up by a pair of strategically placed rings on her nipples. (See photos below.)

The look also exposed an embroidery-style fake tattoo on her upper chest and back.

The singer-songwriter received two nominations for her single “The Subway,” including a nomination in the Record of the Year category at Sunday’s Grammy Awards.
