Chevy makes history in Daytona 500 with First Electric Pace Car
Chevrolet made history in the 67th Daytona 500 when presenting the Blazer EV SS 2025 as the official rhythm car.
This marked the first time that an electric vehicle led the field in the most emblematic race of Nascar, a surprising symbol of how the automotive world is changing to electrification and at the same time honors its racing heritage.
The Blazer EV SS is not an electric SUV; It is the fastest SS model that Chevrolet has built, and lit the heads both on the track.

Power and performance
The 2025 Blazer EV SS has to do with performance. Thanks to its wide Watts mode, the SUV runs from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds, delivering an amazing power of 615 horsepower and 650 pounds-pounds of torque through its total double motor traction system. This energy level puts it in the same conversation as some of the fastest electrical crossovers in the market, rivating models such as the performance of the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT and Tesla Model Y.
What is artificial intelligence (AI)?
Beyond the speed in a straight line, the Blazer EV SS presents front Brembo brakes, an adjusted sports chassis and a robust 102 kWh battery. Despite having been built for performance, it still offers a range of 303 miles estimated by the EPA, so it is as good for your daily trip as it is for those fun weekend adventures.
