China accuses Nvidia of violating antimonopoly laws after research

China accused Nvidia on Monday of violating the country’s antitrust laws and said it would intensify the scrutiny of the world’s chips manufacturer, increasing tensions with Washington while the two countries meet for commercial conversations this week.
Chinese regulators said they would carry out an “additional investigation” in NVIDIA after a preliminary investigation discovered that the company violated regulations when it acquired the Mellanox networks and networks transmission company for $ 6.9 billion in 2020.
Nvidia did not immediately respond to a request for comments.
China’s regulators had said last year that they were looking for alleged violations linked to the acquisition of Mellanox. Nvidia shares decreased $ 2.81, or 1.6%, to $ 175.01 in the negotiation prior to the market on Monday.
The decision increases the pressure on the United States when Washington officials conduct commercial conversations in Spain with Beijing representatives, and follows other Beijing movements to increase the scrutiny of the United States chip industry.

On Saturday, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce said it was carrying out an anti -dumping investigation into certain analog IC chips imported from the USA, including basic products commonly made by companies such as Texas Instruments and in semiconductors.
The Ministry also announced a separate anti -discrimination investigation on the measures of the United States against the Chinese chips sector.
In the conversations scheduled to function from Sunday to Wednesday, the United States Secretary of the United States, Scott Besent, will meet with the Chinese vice president that LIFENG in Madrid for negotiations on tariffs and national security problems related to the property of the Tiktok social media platform.
It is the fourth round of discussions after meetings in London, Geneva and Stockholm. The two governments agreed several 90 -day pauses in a series of growing reciprocal tariffs, eliminating a total commercial war.
Nvidia, based in Santa Clara, California, the most valuable semiconductor manufacturer in the world, has become the center of the US-China commercial war, while the two parties fight for technological supremacy.
The company has faced chips exports to China imposed by the administration of President Joe Biden who were later reinforced by President Donald Trump.
