Chris Brown Apparently Shades Bad Bunny and Uses It as an Opportunity for Self-Promotion
Everyone hates Chris, at least it seems that way on social media.
Sunday night, shortly after Bad Bunny Super Bowl LX halftime show, R&B singer Chris Brown posted a cryptic story on Instagram that many felt was directed at the Puerto Rican Grammy winner due to his timing.
To make the situation even more embarrassing, it was also quite self-promotional.
“I THINK IT’S SAFE TO SAY… THEY NEED ME! 😏,” he wrote.

Most social media users assumed that “they” in his statement was the NFL and that the league needs Brown to be the next Super Bowl headliner.
Considering that the message “Run it!” The singer is better known for his history of violence than for his music nowadays, X’s people were in no mood for his chest-thumping.

Brown has quite a criminal record.
In 2009, it was convicted of physical assault his then-girlfriend, the singer Rihanna. Although the two rekindled their romance in 2012, they eventually split for good, with Rihanna describing her clashes with Brown to Vanity Fair in 2015 as “domestic abuse.”
“It’s in the past, and I don’t want to say, ‘Get over it,’ because it’s a very serious thing that’s still relevant; it’s still real. A lot of women, a lot of girls are still going through it. A lot of boys too. It’s not an issue that should be swept under the rug, so I can’t just brush it off like it’s nothing, or I don’t take it seriously,” she said. “But for me, and for anyone who has been a victim of domestic abuse, no one wants to even remember it.”

Unfortunately, this was not the only time Brown was accused of violent behavior. In fact, there have been so many Billboard compiled a timeline of all of Brown’s legal problems, from 2009 to the present, including (but not limited to) breaking his dressing room window with a chair after storming off set during an interview with “Good Morning America” in 2011; punching musician Frank Ocean after a dispute over a parking space in 2013; aiding and abetting a sexual assault in 2017 (allegations Brown’s lawyer denied) and attacking someone with a bottle at a London nightclub in 2023.
The man who accused Brown of attacking him at the London nightclub requested in June that his lawsuit against the singer be dismissed; Brown still faces criminal charges to which he has pleaded not guilty.
