Chris Noth had a surprising reaction when a fan responded to his latest Instagram post with a critique of his former “Sex and the City” co-star, Sarah Jessica Parker.

Last week, the actor acknowledged the beginning of 2026 by sharing a photo of himself at the gym. “F&@k new year – GO!!!!” he wrote on Instagram.

Noth’s post came just days after Parker received the Golden Globes’ Carol Burnett Award for “outstanding contributions to television” at the Globes’ “Golden Eve” ceremony. Although “SATC” stars Kristin Davis, David Eigenberg and Evan Handler were on hand to celebrate Parker, Noth did not attend the Jan. 6 event in Los Angeles.

In the comments below Noth’s post, one fan apparently alluded to the actor’s absence, writing, “You mean fcuk sjp and his award right? lol.”

Noth responded, seeming to endorse the sentiment. “Correct,” he wrote.

Representatives for Noth and Parker did not respond to News’s request for comment on the post.

Noth played Mr. Big, the on-again, off-again love interest of Carrie Bradshaw (Parker), in all six seasons of HBO’s “Sex and the City” and in the franchise’s two feature films.

Since Mr. Big was killed off in the premiere episode of “And Just Like That…”, Noth’s involvement in HBO Max’s polarizing “Sex and the City” revival series, which concluded last year after three seasons, was limited.

However, shortly after the debut of “And Just Like That…”, Noth was accused of sexual assault by two women, who made their accusations anonymously. Although the actor denied the claims, scenes from the season 1 finale episode of “And Just Like That…” that would have featured Mr. Big were reportedly removed ahead of its 2022 broadcast.

Despite his embarrassing exit from “And Just Like That…”, Noth’s comment will likely surprise longtime “SATC” fans given that the actor, at least so far, appears to be on good terms with Parker.

Speaking to The Guardian in 2021, she defended Parker amid long-standing reports of a behind-the-scenes feud between her and her former co-star Kim Cattrall, who did not reprise her role as Samantha Jones in “And Just Like That…” outside of a Season 2 cameo.

“I know I’m very close to SJ and [Cattrall’s] The descriptions of her don’t even come close,” he said at the time. “I just don’t like seeing anyone badmouthing SJ because she’s a target and people can be nasty. I feel very protective of her and that didn’t make me happy. That’s all I’ll say about it.”
