It’s all about money, honey.
On Wednesday’s episode of “Early Start With Rahel Solomon,” CNN chief data analyst Harry Enten said that the majority of American voters do not believe that the president donald trump “He doesn’t give a damn” about the current state of the economy, and that the Republican Party “should be afraid of nothing” about it.
“Donald Trump might be trying to downplay voters’ concerns about affordability, but I’m here to tell you that’s a huge mistake,” Enten said. “It may be a mistake that falls into political infamy.”

Enten went on to explain that data shows that during the run-up to the 2024 presidential election, more Americans were confident that Trump was more capable of solving “the inflation problem” than his opponent, former Vice President Kamala Harris.
A year later, however, it appears that most voters feel that Trump sold them nothing more than a bunch of useless snake oil when it came to his economic policies.
“Look where we are today. Donald Trump is underwater on the Titanic when it comes to inflation,” Enten said, noting that the president’s net approval rating is now negative 26 points.
“My God,” Enten said of Trump’s plummeting numbers.

Enten went on to note that Trump’s usual tactic of passing “political responsibility” when “things don’t go his way” isn’t going to work this time, especially if he blames his predecessor, former President Joe Biden.
“That, simply put, won’t work,” Enten said, pointing to data from “poll after poll after poll” that indicated 54% of voters believe Trump is more responsible for their financial problems, compared to 21% who blame Biden.
“Now, of course, it’s one thing for voters to not like the state of the economy,” Enten said. “But it’s another thing when they don’t believe Donald Trump really gives a damn.”
He then pulled out data showing that 75% of voters feel Trump “isn’t paying enough attention to cost-cutting,” and that this view is shared by 57% of Republicans.

Enten said the Republican Party “should be scared, blank, blank, no blank” by Trump’s let-them-eat-cake vibes, because voters are clearly angry. Enten highlighted Democrats’ big victories in local elections earlier this month and noted that midterm elections will be held a year from now.
“If these numbers hold and Donald Trump continues to try [to] ignoring a problem Americans think we have in terms of cost of living and affordability, well, it might be goodbye, friends.”
“Goodbye to the House majority and, dare I say, the Republican Senate majority as well,” Enten said.

Quite a funny actor and not that stupid. Jeff Daniels made a similar call earlier this year, when he told MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace in July that he hopes Trump voters are “losing tons of money.”
“I think at the end of the day, that’s what it’s going to accomplish,” the Emmy winner said of Trump supporters turning against the president over money. “‘Wait a minute, the grocery bill is what, $180 more? I can’t get that car we have to have unless I pay another $8,000. What? Who do I blame for that? Who do I consult about that?’ “A person.”
