CNN presenter Abby Phillip did not hold his criticism to President Donald Trump and his inability to fulfill his promises.

During the episode on Monday night of “CNN Newsnight”, Phillip broadcast a mashup of videos with Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, and used the segment to highlight what she described as repeated inaccuracies from the White House.

We are two weeks after the new deadline for nations to reach trade agreements or face new tariffs, and the secretary of Commerce promises once again that the goods has, “said Phillip.

She referred to Trump’s repeated statement that he has completed 200 trade agreements, although there were only 195 countries in the world. To emphasize the disconnection, Phillip shot a series of clips that show Lutnick enthusiastically speaking the result of these supposed agreements.

“Oh, they will love the offers that President Trump and I are doing,” Lutnick said in a clip. “I mean they will love them. This will be … the next two weeks will be weeks for registration books. President Trump will deliver to the American people.”

Phillip added that Trump’s promises “have been limited in the best case,” noting that the habit of the administration of “mocking” large ads has become a “trend.”

She continued with more Lutnick clips promoting the process. On June 11, he said that the administration had “a significant amount of agreements.” Then, on June 26, he promised to “announce a lot of agreements during the next week or so.”

The veteran journalist also took note that on Sunday, Lutnick gave false hope to the American people, citing that “only four commercial agreements have been announced.”

Later in the segment, Phillip focused on the investor of the “shark tank”, Kevin O’Leary, and questioned him about the state of the negotiations. O’Leary then made reference to previous comments from Treasury Secretary Scott Batsent.

“The conversations advance, but the important thing here is the quality of the agreement, not the moment of the agreements,” Besent said. “You know, again, we are advancing to the rhythm of negotiations, but we are not going to hurry to make deals.”

Phillip then declared that the message has become “contradictory.”

Besent mentioned on July 6 that the Trump administration anticipated finishing a wave of commercial agreements before its initial objective date of July 7.
