Coco Gautf became the third woman in the open era in losing in the first round in Wimbledon just after Win the championship at the France Openeliminated 7-6 (3), 6-1 by the non-sown Dayana Yastremska of Ukraine on Tuesday night.

The Gotera No. 2 made an error after error on court No. 1, ending with only six winners and a total of 29 non -forced errors that included nine double offenses.

“Dayana started playing strongly,” Gautff said. “I couldn’t find my balance today.”

She joined another highly sown American, No. 3 Jessica Pegulawhen leaning on day 2 of the tournament. It was just a little more than three weeks that Gound was celebrating her Second Grand Slam title When overcoming Aryna Sabalenka number in the final in the red clay of Roland-Garros.

The rapid change could have been a problem, Gound acknowledged.

“I feel that I was mentally overwhelmed with everything that came later,” said the 21 -year -old Gago, “so I didn’t feel that I had enough time to celebrate and also do it again.”

He did not believe that he imported on Tuesday that his location in the party was transferred from the Central Court to Court number 1 or that they told him about a new time of start just one hour before the contest began.

Although Gound’s great advance occurred at the All England Club at age 15 in 2019, when Venus Williams beat in his inaugural match and reached the fourth round, the grass court tournament has proven to be his less successful specialty.

It is the only Slam where Gound has not done at least the semifinals.

In fact, he has not yet overcome the fourth round and has now been sent home in the first round twice in the last three years.

The transition of Clay To Grass has proven difficult for most players, and the last woman to win the open of France and Wimbledon in the same season was Serena Williams a decade ago.

Even so, since the era opened in 1968, only Justine Henin in 2005 and Francesca Schiavone in 2010 went from celebrating the trophy in Paris to the exit immediately in London.

Gounf was never on his best Tuesday against Yastremska, who had lost the previous three clashes and currently occupies the 42nd position.

A particular problem for the base, as is usually its portion. He managed to put only 45% of his first portions at stake, won 14 of his 32 second -service points and had all those double failures, including one pair in the tiebreaker and another when he broke to open the second set.

“When I can serve well, and some games I did, it is definitely an additional threat,” Gasff said. “I didn’t serve so well.”

The best result of Grand Slam of Yastremska was to reach the semifinals on the hard courts of the Australian Open last year, although he entered this event with a record of only 10-11 in first round matches in Majors.

The Govef, on the contrary, was 20-3 at that stage, including a defeat against SofĂa Kenin in Wimbledon in 2023.

The deepest race of Yastremska in Wimbledon was doing the fourth round in 2019, although it reached the final of the Junior event in 2016.

“I was really on fire,” said Yastremska, who accumulated 16 winners. “Playing against Coco is something special.”

Recently he reached his first final of the Tournament in Grass, in a smaller event in Nottingham, which according to she gave confidence to All England Club.

“I love playing in grass. I feel that this year we are friends,” Yastremska said with a smile. “I hope the road will continue for me here.”
