Colman Domingo did not hesitate when asked who he thought was the most avant-garde person: he had a unique and confident answer.

“Who is the best dressed person of the year in your opinion?” a British GQ interviewer asked Domingo in an Instagram clip posted Tuesday.

“Colman Domingo,” the actor responded, causing laughter. “I wish I was lying.”

The journalist had no rebuttal and Domingo quickly explained why he chose himself.

“I’m just saying it because I want my brothers to step up,” he continued. “It doesn’t have to be me every year, but maybe you can try harder.”

Their back and forth got the laughter flowing. “It’s often you. The last time I saw you, it was you,” the interviewer added.

“I can’t believe I said it myself, but it’s kind of true,” the “Rustin” actor admitted as the moment ended, laughter still hanging in the atmosphere.

Domingo’s trust is not without receipts. In April, Vogue declared that it is “setting the bar for men’s fashion.” The outlet spoke with her stylists, Wayman Bannerman and Micah McDonald.who broke the creative engine behind her standout appearance.
