Critics Blast Trump After Incredible New Flaunt About His Favorite Thing
President Donald Trump on Thursday boasted about his golf game and boasted that he had won 38 club championships, insisting he did it “legitimately.”
But people who have played with Trump have said the opposite.
“Look, I know a lot about golf. I’ve won 38 club championships and I can’t practice much,” said Trump, who plays golf most weekends, costing taxpayers about $70 million even as he makes severe cuts elsewhere in the government.
During a Christmas call with U.S. service members, Trump boasted about winning a championship at “a big club” by beating a 27-year-old last year, but did not provide details.
“You know, the club championships are our biggest, you know, most people can’t play in them, won’t,” he said. “We’re talking about no strokes or anything else. So I have a very low handicap and I’ve won 38 of them legitimately, all of them legitimately.”
He stated that his victories must be legitimate due to the number of people who follow him during the championships.
“So I’m a good golfer, yeah, I’d have to say that,” he insisted. “I want to be honest. I have to be honest.”

Trump was responding to a service member who asked him about his handicap in golf and whether he would ever play against former President Joe Biden.
Naturally, Trump used the question as an opportunity to attack his predecessor.
“There are many people who talk, but don’t know how to play, like Biden,” he said. “Biden can’t hit a ball 30 yards, I’m telling you. I looked at his swing. He can’t hit a ball 30 yards.”
So far, Trump has spent 82 days of his presidency at golf courses he owns, including 29 at his West Palm Beach course near his Mar-a-Lago home.
He has played golf because his tariffs caused economic chaos, gone to the course frequently during the government shutdown and even played golf instead of attending the return of the remains of four American soldiers killed overseas during a training mission.
But while the president spends a lot of time playing golf, those with whom he has played golf and other observers say he is not as good as he boasted.
Sportswriter Rick Reilly not only played with the president, but he also wrote an entire book about the experience called “Commander In Cheat: How Golf Explains Trump.”
Reilly said last year that Trump cheats at golf “like a mafia accountant” and called his championships “fake as Velveeta cheese.”
“He’s never won a championship on a course he doesn’t own and operate,” Reilly told MSNBC last year. “He’s played at Pebble Beach, he’s played at Tahoe, where there are rules and judges and cameras. And in those, he’s never finished in the top half. So he wins when anyone who doesn’t agree that he won is out of the club. That’s how he does it.”
Earlier this year, videos emerged online that critics say show the president cheating.
Given that history, Trump’s critics on X weren’t buying his latest boast of winning 38 championships “legitimately.”
