Critics slam Stephen Miller’s wife after on-air crisis, threaten anti-IDF expert
Since then, the wife of White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller, the architect behind some of President Donald Trump’s most controversial immigration and family separation policies, has been criticized by legions of angry critics on social media.
His comment on Wednesday was drowned out by screams, but has since gone viral.
“You better review your citizenship application and hope that everything is legal and correct,” she told Uygur after he criticized Israel for violating its ceasefire with Hamas and killing at least 46 children. “Because you will be like [Rep.] Ilhan Omar [D-Minn.] comes next.”
Rep. Nancy Mace (R.S.C.) notably pushed last month for Omar to be stripped of her U.S. citizenship over her comments about the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
Katie Miller’s warning on Wednesday has been met with disgust on social media by journalists, political experts and bystanders alike. Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Glenn Greenwald cited a clip of the moment on X, formerly Twitter, and added his own unbridled criticism.
“Threatening to have your husband deport an American citizen because he criticized you in a television debate, and even more so because he criticized the foreign country you love so deeply, is the most twisted and authoritarian mentality you can find,” she wrote on Thursday.

Uygur was comparing the Israel Defense Forces to Nazi Germany’s Schutzstaffel when Miller made his threat. The “Young Turks” host seemed not to get it and argued that the Israeli army has acted with impunity by bombing Gaza and killing Palestinian children.
The dispute with Miller finally began earlier in the show, when Uygur said that pro-Israel voices have tirelessly tried to paint New York City mayoral front-runner Zohran Mamdani as a “dirty Muslim” – and want to “smear, cancel, fire and arrest” critics of Israel’s government.
Miller attempted to conflate his words with anti-Semitism, leading Uygur to call Miller and her husband liars. He then noted that they are “raising Jewish children in this country” and threatened to withdraw after denouncing Uygur’s comments as “racist and bigoted rhetoric.”
Meanwhile, his threat is being called “unhinged,” “desperate,” and “disgusting.”
No one uses accusations of RACISTS and BIGOTERS to shut down debate more than Israel loyalists in the United States.
Watch Katie Miller employ all the tactics the American right spent years decrying as left-liberal identity politics, all to equate criticism of her as racism: https://t.co/QkzF4Jf460

STEPHEN MILLER’S WIFE THREATENS TO DEPORT @cenkuygur after losing a debate.
Cenk is a naturalized U.S. citizen.
First she begged Piers Morgan to kick him out and then swore her husband would “denaturalize” him.

Here is Katie Miller, a person we could imagine has some influence over this administration’s policy toward naturalized citizens, threatening her political adversary. More than disgusting.
I just checked and @cenkuygur came to the United States when he was eight years old. He is a… https://t.co/9qcvaoCv0q

Watch Katie Miller do some completely “woke” identity politics here. Every time we criticized her or Israel, she had no substantive response. He resorted to trying to cancel us from the debate in the middle of the show. He believes he can get ahead of any debate by playing the anti-Semitism card. https://t.co/PebKaRhOao

This is Katie Miller threatening to use her political influence in the White House to deport Cenk Uygur (“you better review your citizenship application”) because she was unhappy that he called her and her husband liars. An extraordinary and intolerable authoritarian nonsense. https://t.co/njQt3ZCOgd
