Cuomo faces a wave of attacks in the chaotic debate of the Mayor’s Office of New York
The leader of the New York City Mayor’s career, Andrew Cuomo, was forced to defend himself with a volley of attacks from his primary Democratic rivals in a debate on Wednesday, with his opponents unleashing Barms in the former governor in an attempt to break his leadership.
Cuomo was on the defensive of the opening bell.
From a scenario full of people, Cuomo’s opponents hit him about the sexual harassment scandal that forced him to leave the governor’s mansion, his coronavirus response and federal research on whether he linked to Congress about his handling of pandemic in elderly homes.
At one time, Zohran Mamdani, a legislator of the Democratic Socialist State who has emerged as one of the main candidates in the race, pressed Cuomo in the overlap between the political donors of the former governor and those who donated to Republican President Donald Trump.
“The difference between Andrew Cuomo is that my campaign is not financed by the same billionaires who put Donald Trump in DC,” Mamdani said, calling himself “Donald Trump’s worst nightmare.”
Women the attack, Cuomo began to get her own blows.
“Mr. Mamdani is very good on Twitter, with videos, but in reality he does not produce anything,” said Cuomo. “Donald Trump would go through Mr. Mamdani as a hot knife through the butter. He has been in the government 27 minutes, he has approved three bills. That is all he has done.”
The battery occurred after Cuomo, who has directed all the polls since he entered the race, avoided his opponents in public, giving them virtually no opportunity to meet him face to face.
All that changed on Wednesday night.

The opponents of the former governor had it in sight throughout the debate, working in criticism of Cuomo in their answers to the questions or intervening at points to obtain another rapid cavation to the former governor of New York. The cross talk was heavy on a stage that was host of nine candidates.
In an exchange, Cuomo deviated in a question about whether he regretted his time in politics, saying that if he regretted something, it was “that the Democratic Party reached a point where we allow Trump to be chosen, that we reached a point where rhetoric has no connection with reality.”
The other candidates launched.
Adrienne Adams, the speaker of the City of New York, spoke, asking Cuomo if he regrets his history in medical care, child care and more.
“Really, he doesn’t regret,” he said as he shook his head in Cuomo.
When Cuomo moved to answer, Jessica Ramos, a state senator, tried to get a point, but was drowned by a moderator who ordered the former governor to respond to Adams’s criticism.
“It is simply not accurate,” said Cuomo.
The headline mayor Eric Adams, a Democrat who withdrew from the primaries to run for a second mandate in an independent vote, did not participate in the debate.

Cuomo had been considered one of the rising stars of the Democratic Party before his dramatic drop in 2021 after a sexual harassment scandal.
The former governor has said that he did not intentionally mistreat women and that he had been out of tune with what was considered adequate behavior in the workplace, although his lawyers and consultants have worked to discredit their accusers. Cuomo repeated a similar chorus on Wednesday during the debate.
On his return to the mayor, Cuomo has faced a renewed scrutiny about his decisions during the Covid-19 pandemic and the Department of Justice is under investigation on whether he lied to Congress on how he handled the virus as it extended through elderly homes.
During the debate, the moderators tried to specify Cuomo about the veracity of their testimony of the Congress about a state report on deaths in the elderly during the pandemic, but avoided the question.
“He was very aware of the report,” he said, laughing at one of the other candidates.
