Danny Devito almost dies during his always sunny acrobatics trick: he left silently
“IT is always sunny in Philadelphia” and his eccentric group of pub owners has tuddled fans for decades, but almost cost actor Danny Devito his life, according to an interview of the New York Post on Tuesday with the author Kimberly Potts.
While the incident has not been a secret, Potts shared new details to promote his next book, “it is (almost) always sunny in Philadelphia: how three friends spent $ 200 to create the comedy of live action situation more time in history and help build a network.”
Devito was filming an underwater scene for “The Gang Go to Hell: two” of season 11 with co -star Glenn Howrton, Kaitlin Olson, Charlie Day and Rob Mcelhenney, which required that the star weighs it as the water level rose.
“At one point, Danny was accidentally kicked, I think, in the shoulder, near his head,” Potts told the post. “As they told me, he almost drowned. I certainly had everyone to fear that he was in trouble.”
She added: “He left silently, and the day had ended for him. So even he has a threshold of how far he is willing to arrive. But for the overwhelming majority, his experience with him is great. Kaitlin Olson has called him the happiest person he has ever met.”
Day recounted the heartbreaking accident during an appearance in 2016 in “Conan”, and recalled that Devito was so “incredibly buoyant, like a buoy”, which had to be heavy for the scene, which saw the characters trapped in a room with a water leak on a cruise.
“And when the shot ended and we were all trying to return to the surface by air, we all quickly crossed the water, but because we weighed it, he reached the middle and was not going anywhere,” Day told the host Conan O’Brien at that time.
“And that panic look in his eyes like, ‘This is the end, these guys killed me,” he joked.

Day pointed out that the security divers at the set finally recovered Devito, who was about 71 years old at that time. While many in their position could prefer not to joke about that, Devito himself told “Extra” in 2017: “I have lived a good life and blinked before my eyes in that scene.”
However, Potts said Tuesday that he “was very frustrated by that situation,” however.
“It’s Always Sunny” became an unlikely success story for Mcelheny and Howerton, who respectively created and developed the show firing independently the pilot for little money. Day later said that it is not sure of the $ 200 figure cited as the budget.

While Howerton he recently told The Post that a conclusion of the series has been discussed, the idea of finishing the program for good is still reviewed “year after year.”
“It’s Always Sunny” starts the 17th season in July.
