Drew Barrymore calls out a famous ex live on air and doesn’t do it

Barrymore called her former boyfriend with her guest, Vince Gilligan, best known for writing “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul.”

Gilligan also wrote the screenplay for “Home Fries,” starring Barrymore and Wilson.

When Barrymore originally went to call Wilson during the live recording from his studio, unfortunately he didn’t answer.

“This is not going as planned,” Barrymore said when her phone rang, with Wilson not answering. “But what do you do in life, right?”

When the daytime talk show host received a voicemail, she gushed about her time with Wilson.

“We were talking about you and sending you love. Can you believe ‘Home Fries’ was 27 years ago?” Barrymore said over the phone. “I know this is just a voicemail, but I love you, I’m sending you love and I’m here with Vince on the show and we’re thinking about you.”

Luckily, Wilson ended up calling again and gave a very sweet explanation for why he hadn’t answered.

“Hey, Drew!” said. “Sorry, I was just taking out my trash cans.”

Wilson, Barrymore and Gilligan reminisced about their time together, and the “Never Been Kissed” actress shared a very special memory of her relationship with Wilson, whom she dated from 1996 to 1998.

“Remember how I got arrested for urinating in public with you?” Barrymore said, as Wilson laughed and said, “I remember.”
