Eagles’ Nick Sirianni responds after more frustrated questions from AJ Brown: ‘Close to finishing answering’

Another moment of frustration from AJ Brown led Philadelphia Eagles reporters to ask head coach Nick Sirianni about his star receiver.

And Sirianni is tired of hearing about it.

“Guys, I’m close to finishing answering these questions about this,” he said when asked further about Brown’s latest comments, which came during a “Madden” stream with YouTube personality Janky Rondo.

“He’s working hard, he’s a big part of the game plan and he’s going to keep going. He’s working like crazy when he’s here and we’re excited to have him.”

During the “Madden” broadcast, Janky Rondo asked Brown how everything was going, both professionally and personally.

Brown responded “No,” laughing, and began to explain.

“Where have you been?” he told Rondo while chuckling. “Like a good family, yeah. Everything else? No… It’s a shit show… You say, ‘How have you been?’ “I’m fighting, brother.”

The reigning Super Bowl champions are on track to return to the playoffs, with a 7-2 record in their first nine games of the season. However, Brown’s frustrations with missing goals in most of those games have been a major storyline since the start of the season.

On “Monday Night Football,” the Eagles posted a 10-7 victory over the Green Bay Packers on the road. Brown had two receptions on the opening drive, but didn’t see another target until the Eagles’ final offensive play of the game, a poorly thrown Jalen Hurts throw into the end zone that fell incomplete.

Sirianni was first asked if Brown was becoming a distraction with his off-field comments about his individual performances.

“No, I don’t think so,” he replied. “They can only focus on their interactions and how they do their jobs on a daily basis, which you can’t see. No, everything remains the same.”

But the 28-year-old star receiver clearly isn’t happy with his role in the Eagles’ offense despite what the win-loss record says. There were even rumors that Brown could request a trade before this year’s deadline passed, but he will remain with the team for the rest of the season.

This is a receiver who has produced three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons, the last one even with Saquon Barkley posting a 2,000-plus yard rushing campaign in his first year in Philadelphia. Brown has also had at least seven touchdowns in each of those three seasons.

In 2025, Brown totaled 408 yards and three touchdowns on 31 receptions in eight games. He’s on pace to have the lowest production of his career in a single season, which was 869 yards in his final year with the Tennessee Titans, when he only played in 13 games.

During the “Madden” game, he joked that he had to “show him some love,” referring to his own Eagles player as he threw a long completion for a touchdown.

“Good things happen when they touch you,” he added.

Brown later showed his son his “Madden” stats for the game, in which his own player had nine receptions for 168 yards and two touchdowns. Janky Rondo said it must be cool to be able to show his son that he’s in a video game.

“I’m telling you, brother,” Brown responded. “That’s the only damn football highlight I’ve been experiencing right now.”

And for those Fantasy managers who have been frustrated by having Brown all season, he also gave some advice during the broadcast.

“If you’ve got me in your fantasy, man, get rid of me,” he said.

While this remains a story, the Eagles are preparing for an important “Sunday Night Football” matchup against the Detroit Lions in Week 11. They will host a fellow NFC contender at Lincoln Financial Field for the primetime game.
