Eric Trump calls the 2020 elections the
Eric Trump believes the fallout from his father, President Donald Trump’s, 2020 election battle helped strengthen the Republican Party in the long run.
“By the way, 2020 was the best thing that happened to our party, as much as it hurt at the time,” he told comedian Adam Carolla during Tuesday’s episode of the comedian’s YouTube show.
“Because he’s just surrounded by killers who are doing phenomenal work and, I don’t know, I think the difference between us and the Democrats is that we’ll actually have a primary process,” Trump added, discussing how President Joe Biden and his vice president, Kamala Harris, were named 2024 Democratic presidential candidates without much of a formal process.
Trump praised Vice President JD Vance and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) as two of those “killers,” adding, “I think the Republican Party is in the best situation it’s ever been in.”

He told Carolla that his father’s 2020 defeat, which the president claims to this day was a sham, was key to igniting the party’s right wing, stating, “I think politics has fundamentally changed because people enjoy the struggle, they understand the issues and it’s no longer a sideshow.”
Eric Trump also called his father the “greatest RINO hunter of all time,” using shorthand for the pejorative phrase “Republican in name only” while criticizing moderates like 2012 presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

Trump’s middle son is currently doing press for his memoir, “Under Siege: My Family’s Fight To Save Our Nation,” which chronicles what the author describes as the “relentless political war” the Trumps have faced since their political rise.
