Erika Kirk gets tongue-tied mid-speech and that
Erika Kirk had an ironic slip-up during Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest this weekend.
While presenting the inaugural Charlie Kirk Courage Award to Utah Valley University student Caleb Chilcutt on Saturday, the right-wing activist’s widow was speechless and said, “Despite the devastating loss of Charlie Kirk, my incredible husband at UVU, Caleb has persisted in the same scam.”
After trying to correct himself, Kirk said “gift” and finally came to the word “value.”
“It’s been a long day!” he said before turning to Chilcutt and saying, “Believe me, you’re not a scammer, honey. Everything’s fine.”

The gaffe did not go unnoticed by Kirk’s critics, who have been accusing her of profiting from her husband’s death following his high-profile murder in September.
“This is the biggest Freudian slip of all time,” noted author Richard Hanania in X.
“Erika Kirk, a scam that keeps scamming,” wrote Canadian comedian Deven Green, who plays Mrs. Betty Bowers (America’s Best Christian) online, on BlueSky.
“Erika Kirk for the win. She closes the year as the queen of one of the worst Freudian slips of all time,” wrote lawyer and documentary filmmaker Gary Douglas in Threads.
Following the death of Charlie Kirk, Erika Kirk became the face of Turning Point USA and embarked on a marathon of media appearances where she vowed to continue her late husband’s mission of promoting a nativist, fundamentalist Christian vision of society.
