Gavin Newsom Releases AI Video of Trump in Handcuffs in Wild Response to White House
California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) took his trolling battle with President Donald Trump to new heights after posting a AI generated video Wednesday shows President Trump, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller in handcuffs.
In the manipulated video, the men sit with their hands behind their backs while the text “It’s cuffing season” appears on the screen. The clip then shows Trump, Hegseth and Miller in the back seat of a car while simultaneously holding their handcuffed hands to their faces and shedding tears.
Newsom’s video ends with the trio appearing to walk toward the doors of a courthouse as police, reporters and onlookers watch and record them with their cellphones. The video is to the tune of “Big Boy” by R&B singer SZA, which includes the lyrics “It’s cuffing season.”
The position of governor of California was a response to a White House Publication earlier this week that showed federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents making sweeping arrests of immigrants while “Big Boy” played in the background.
“WE HAVE HEARD THAT HE IS HANDCUFFING SZN. [handcuff emoji]” the White House headlined in its post on December 8. “Bad news for criminal illegal aliens. Great news for the United States.”

SZA torched the White House with an X on Wednesday for using her song to promote immigrant detention.
“The wrath of the White House harassing artists for free promotion is PEAK DARK… inhumanity + shock tactics and aw… Evil and boring,” he wrote.
Numerous musicians, including Rihanna and Adele, have publicly condemned the Trump administration for using their songs at rallies or in videos without their permission.
More recently, pop star Sabrina Carpenter called the White House’s use of one of her songs for an ICE video “evil and disgusting,” adding, “Never implicate me or my music to benefit your inhumane agenda.”
Earlier this month, Newsom posted several doctored images depicting the president as a pig after Trump went viral for referring to a female reporter as a “piggy.”
Trump has faced scrutiny in recent months over his use of AI in political messaging.
