Gender dysphoria treatments pose significant risks for children and adolescents, reveals the HHS report

The United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) published on Thursday an exhaustive review of best practices for children and adolescents with gender dysphoria.

The report, entitled ‘Treatment for pediatric gender dysphoria: review of evidence and best practices “, was published by the Office Secretary of Health and the Office of Population Affairs.

“This review, informed by an evidence -based medicine approach, reveals serious concerns about medical interventions, such as puberty blockers, hormones and cross -sex surgeries, which try to make the transition from children and adolescents of their sex,” said an HHS press release.

The report highlights the evidence of risks associated with gender -related treatments, including irreversible infertility, sexual dysfunction, bone density reduction, adverse cognitive impacts, cardiovascular disease, metabolic disorders, psychiatric disorders, surgical complications and repentance.

The authors also questioned the ethics surrounding medical interventions for children and adolescents with gender dysphoria.

“HHS believes that medical ethics should be central in this debate,” said the statement.

A team of doctors, medical ethics and a methodologist contributed to the review, according to HHS.

“Taxpayers represent a wide range of political views and were chosen for their commitment to scientific principles.”

“Our duty is to protect the children of our nation, not to expose them to not proven and irreversible medical interventions,” said NIH director Jay Bhattacharya, in the statement. “We must follow the gold standard of science, not activist agendas.”

The report will undergo a complete pairs review in the next few days.

Mark Trammell, the CEO of the Center for American Freedom (CAL), said that the new HHS report confirms that the “medical mutilation” of children suffering from gender dysphoria “is not only not backed by credible scientific evidence, but also raises serious risks and a lifetime.”

“It’s time for the United States to follow the example of other nations and end the dangerous experiment of pediatric gender transition,” he continued.

“Children deserve compassionate attention, based on evidence, and parents deserve a voice.”
