George Clooney says he will no longer kiss women on screen after having a conversation with his wife, Amal Clooney, about his age.

talking to The daily mailthe two-time Oscar winner and handsome leading man, 64, revealed that he has decided to no longer kiss any female co-stars.

“I’ve been trying to follow the path that Paul Newman took: ‘Okay, I’m not kissing a girl anymore,'” he explained in the story that was published on December 12. “When I turned 60, I had a conversation with my wife. I told her, ‘Look, I can still play basketball with guys. I play with 25-year-old guys… I can still hang, I’m in shape.'”

The star added: “But in 25 years, I’ll be 85. It doesn’t matter how many granola bars you eat, that’s a real number.”

Clooney, who began his acting career in the 1980s, has gone down in history as one of Hollywood’s most famous romantic leads. He has starred in multiple films alongside A-list actresses, including Michelle Pfeiffer in “One Fine Day,” Julia Roberts in “Ticket to Paradise” and Jennifer Lopez in “Out of Sight.”

Speaking to The New York Times in 2022 alongside Roberts, Clooney admitted that a director once criticized a kissing scene he had with a co-star. He did not reveal who the director or co-star was.

“I remember early in my career I had to do a kiss scene with a girl and the director was like, ‘Not like that.’ And I was like, ‘Dude, that’s my move!’ That’s what I do in real life!’” Clooney shared.

Later in the interview, he confessed that he and Roberts had to do several takes to get the kissing scene perfect for “Ticket to Paradise.”

“Yes. I told my wife, ‘It took 80 takes,'” he said. “She was like, ‘What the hell?’”

“It took 79 takes of us laughing and then one take of us kissing,” Roberts responded, to which Clooney added, “Well, we had to get it right.”

Clooney, who has twice been named People magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive,” shared similar sentiments about his fading heartthrob persona while speaking to “60 Minutes” in March.

“Look, I’m 63 years old. I’m not trying to compete with 25-year-old leads,” he told the outlet. “That’s not my job. I don’t make romantic movies anymore.”
