Greene criticizes Trump for misleading voters on prices
Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene continues to attack her own Republican Party and shows no signs of slowing down.
President Donald Trump has gone out of his way to tell lies about inflation and grocery prices, and Greene addressed these claims in “The Sean Spicer Show” on Thursday.
“President Trump and his administration deserve a lot of credit for bringing inflation down and keeping it stable, but that doesn’t bring prices down, so misleading people and trying to tell them that prices have gone down doesn’t help; it actually makes people angry,” Greene told the former White House press secretary.

Greene added that the Trump administration cannot fool the American people.
“People know what they pay for at the supermarket,” he said. “They know what they pay for their children’s clothing and school supplies. They know what they pay for their electricity bills.”
He went on to say that the White House approach “doesn’t work,” offering both a critique and an alternative to the administration’s messaging.
“We need compassion and [to] “Let’s show that we care about the American people and that we are in the trenches with them on what they are going through,” Greene continued. “You don’t fool them. You don’t lecture them and you don’t deny what’s happening.”

Greene further argued that the government needed to “control spending” and that “government spending drives inflation.” The Republican then cited the 9% inflation rate in 2022, referencing the CARES Act under Trump’s first presidency, before going on to criticize former President Joe Biden and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for passing “massive legislative bills.”
In a question-and-answer session on Monday, Trump addressed Greene’s sudden shift and expressed confusion about her recent stance.
“I don’t know what happened to Marjorie. She’s a good woman, but I don’t know what happened. I think she got lost,” Trump said.
On Wednesday, CNN chief data analyst Harry Enten didn’t hold back when sharing his thoughts on Trump’s remarks on the economy and their impact on the American people.
“Donald Trump might be trying to downplay voters’ concerns about affordability, but I’m here to tell you that’s a huge mistake,” Enten said. “It may be a mistake that falls into political infamy.”
