The governor of Michigan, Gretchen Whitmer (D) went to her viral photo covering her face while she was in the White House last week, saying she was in Washington, DC, to help residents of her state to recover her electricity.

After pronouncing a speech on Monday at Detroit Economic Club, James Jacob, the Ajax CEO, sat with Whitmer for a Q&A and immediately asked about his time in the capital of the nation. In a joke he held a folder in front of his face, recreating the photo now viral of her doing the same in the oval office.

“Someone asked me what was going through your mind at that time and it was: ‘I don’t want them to take a photo,'” said Whitmer. “That’s all. God, I would like to have not put my folder in front of my face, but whatever.”

She added: “We all have our moments,” before we are seriously, telling Jacob that 5,500 residents of Michigan are on day 15 without energy after an ice storm arrived north of Michigan on the weekend of March 28.

Whitmer said he was on DC to make sure Michigan can obtain an emergency federal statement and get help.

“I am only there to fight for the people of Michigan and I will never miss the opportunity to appear and do what you have to do and I think that it is supposed to be the public service,” Whitmer said in the Detroit Economic Club.

Whitmer was invited to the Oval Office, while Trump signed several executive orders in front of the press, including an ordination of federal agencies that investigated government officials who questioned their false statement that the 2020 elections were stolen. Trump praised Whitmer to the press, telling them that he is a “very good person” and “has really done an excellent job.” A Whitmer spokesman told NBC News that he was “surprised” that he was invited to the firms of the executive order.

“His presence is not support of the actions taken or statements made in that event,” said a spokesman.

Even so, the visit attracted critics, according to NBC News. In addition to that, after the direction of “Building, Build” by Whitmer on Wednesday in DC, in which he said he agreed with Trump’s “motivation behind the rates”, the governor of Colorado Jared Polis (d) called it.
