Giant effigies of President Donald Trump were burned Thursday on the final night of the Fallas festival in Valencia, eastern Spain.

Satirical performances of the president, known as ninots, went up in flames in a fiery climax to the annual event, whose participants have ridiculed Trump for years.

This year, Trump was mocked in multiple grotesque sculptures displayed around the city in recent days, often alongside Russian President Vladimir Putin and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The fires came amid rising tensions between Trump and Spain’s government, which criticized the president’s war against Iran and resisted his calls to increase its defense spending.
