Harrison Ford says that politics can be giving a healthy right to the right
Harrison Ford can lean liberal, but he is not worried that the country will take a change to the conservative side.
When asked what he thinks about the state of the country under the administration of President Donald Trump during an extensive interview with Variety, which came out on Wednesday, the “Indian Jones” icon had a surprising response.
“The pendulum swings in both directions, and is in a healthy right swing at this time,” Ford said. “And, as nature dictates, it will turn back.”
The legend of “Star Wars”, which supported Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris during the 2024 presidential race, diagnosed the deep political polarization of the United States as the real problem.
“Currently, the problem is not who we are, but we are not the ones we used to be because we have been broken down on the purpose of useful political units,” he told Variety.
According to the actor, the zero sum game between the left and the right has eliminated the capacity of the United States to find solutions through the middle ground.

“That has caused the medium to fray and dim, and the medium is where we belong,” said “Blade Runner.” “Not because it is banal and safe, but because it is fair. The commitment is fair and honest.”
Learning to handle defeat, while sticking to its values, is a crucial lesson that Ford believes that people have forgotten.
“In politics and in life, you do not always get what you want, but you get what you get and do not get angry,” he said. “They teach us that in the kindergarten, but they also teach you to fight for what you think is correct.”
He continued: “Now, because we have been disaggregated in this way, we are having difficulty finding in common.”
But Ford told Variety that he believes that there is an important problem that people of all persuasions should be able to meet.
“If we look at the economy, you will discover where the commonity is: it is where it was always: the rich are enriched and the poor become poorer,” he said. “And that is not exactly correct.”

When asked if he had any solution, the star told Variety that he was not the one who had the answers.
“You are asking an unqualified person,” he said. “So I don’t have that answer.”
