“Like anyone with a child who has type 1, especially a small child, he is constantly looking [at ‘Today’]”She said.” You are distracted. “

“You are constantly looking, you are constantly monitoring, you are constantly checking.”

“You simply get a priority control in your life,” Kotb told the Co-Anravios of Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin during the segment. “I can be here and sweat what is happening with hope in the morning and at night, or I can be there and feel relief.”

Kotb emphasized that he tries not to “put his concern” to hope, and added that his daughter is “well most of the day.”

“There are only times when you have to see it,” Kotb said. “I was totaling: five minutes at breakfast, five minutes at lunch, five minutes at dinner, sometimes during the night.”

“Add that, that’s half an hour. So, for 23½ hours, she is any other child. So, I try to remember that.”

Type 1 vs. Type 2 diabetes

Type 1 diabetes occurs when the immune system “attacks by mistake and destroys the cells” in the pancreas, which can occur for months or years, depending on the previous source.

Type 1 diabetes symptoms can include excessive thirst and hunger, frequent urine, inexplicable weight loss, fatigue, blurred vision and slow healing and sores.

Kotb shared with Today.com that Hope’s first symptoms imitated the flu and were so severe that he had to be “run” to the hospital.

“Let them be children and give them what they need when they need it.”

Now that Kotb knows how to handle Hope’s condition, he is offering his space to be a regular girl, he said.
