The Israeli army said Thursday that “precisely he hit a military objective of the Hutí terrorist regime in the area of Sanaa in Yemen.”

Al-Rahawi, who served as Government Prime Minister led by Houthi since August 2024, was attacked with other members of his government controlled by Houthi during a routine workshop held by the Government to evaluate his activities and performance during the past year, said the declaration of the rebels.

The hutis have repeatedly launched missiles against Israel throughout the Israel War against Hamas in Gaza. The group says that attacks are supportive with the Palestinians. Although most of the missiles launched by Yemen are intercepted by Israel or fragments in the air, this has done little to deter the attacks.

At the beginning of the week, Israeli attacks reached multiple areas in Sanaa, killing at least 10 people and hurting another 102, according to the Houthi-Administered Ministry of Health and government officials.

The hutis have launched missiles and drones to Israel and the ships attacked in the Red Sea during the Israel War against Hamas in Gaza. The rebels say their attacks are supportive with the Palestinians.

In response to Hutis attacks, Israel and a coalition led by the United States hit the areas controlled by the rebels in Yemen, including Sanaa and the Hodeida strategic coastal city. Israeli strikes stopped service to Sanaa airport in May.

The Trump administration announced an agreement with the hutis to end air attacks in exchange for an end of shipping attacks in May. The rebels, however, said that the agreement did not include stopping the attacks against the objectives that they believed were aligned with Israel.
