Pet Raccoon trapped with methamphetamine pipes during the traffic stop
Indonesian authorities confiscated two tons of glass methamphetamine hidden in a fishing boat and arrested six people in the largest drug fall in the country, authorities said on Monday.
The National Narcotics Agency, or BNN, said that the Thai authorities had notified them that the ship with an Indonesian flag, sailing from the Andaman Sea to Batam Island, could take a great tour of narcotics.
Indonesian authorities said they intercepted the boat in waters in front of the Riau Islands last Tuesday, and found 2,000 glass methamphetamine packages stuffed in hidden cardboard boxes inside the ship.
“The search result is two tons of glass methamphetamine,” said BNN Marthinus Hukom chief at a press conference. “This is the biggest tour in the history of the narcotics of Indonesia.”
The authorities published images of suspects handcuffed with orange monkeys and facial masks sitting in front of hundreds of packages of the alleged drugs.

Marthinus estimated that drugs are worth more than $ 4 million.
Indonesian authorities investigated the case in the last five months, working closely with the Thai authorities.
Illicit drugs occurred in the “golden triangle” region where Thailand, Laos and Myanmar are found, and were smuggled by an organized group of crimes that worked with Indonesian traffickers, Marthinus said.
Six people aboard the fishing boat were arrested, including four Indonesians and two Thai citizens.
The crew told the authorities that they were fishermen recruited by the drug union that promised to pay 50,000 Baht of Thai ($ 1,500) and a $ 3,000 bonus.
Marthinus said that a fugitive from Thailand was behind the operation and that Indonesia would emit a red notice for the trafficker.
Monday’s drug bust was the second great drug seizure this month. The Indonesian authorities seized 1.2 tons of glass methamphetamine and more than 700 kilograms of cocaine inside a fishing boat with Thailand flag near the Riau Islands. The authorities said they arrested five people and published an image of the suspects on the ship with drug packages and armed officers behind them.
In a separate case, the Indonesian authorities arrested an Australian on Monday for allegedly smuggling of cocaine on the tourist island of Bali, a position that could take the death penalty, authorities said on Monday.
Indonesia has extremely strict drug laws, and the smuggers convicted are sometimes executed by a shooting squad.
