On Thursday’s episode of MS NOW’s “Morning Joe,” co-host Joe Scarborough criticized President Donald TrumpTrump’s latest decorative change in the White House, and he suggested that his taste (and level of maturity) is similar to that of an elementary school bully.
In August, the White House revealed that was giving the historic West Wing Colonnade, an open-air corridor that runs between the West Wing and the Executive Residence, the Mar-a-Lago treatment.

The walls of the iconic walkway, once blank, now feature a gigantic sign that looks like it was purchased at a big-box home improvement store and reads “Presidential Walk of Fame.” Beneath the sign are piles of decorative ornaments and a long row of eye-catching, gold-framed portraits of each American president.

This week each portrait received its own plaque, and descriptions of each president (especially Trump’s most recent predecessors) are written in a “style of [Trump’s] hyperbolic posts on social media” and offer an “often inaccurate version of the story,” according to the New York Times.
Scarborough, however, had a much bolder assessment of Trump’s latest turn in the White House.
“He is putting third-degree plaques on the people’s White House,” said the former Republican legislator. “I might as well write it in crayons.”

The “Morning Joe” host is right about the language.
Barack Obama’s license plate refers to him as “Barack Hussein Obama”, and he is described as “one of the most divisive political figures in American history”, even though Obama has the highest favorability rating of any living president.
Bill Clinton’s plaque downplays his administration’s accomplishments while also mentioning his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who lost to Trump in the 2016 presidential election.

Joe Biden’s license plate is the most childish. Instead of a portrait of Biden, it shows a portrait of an automatic pen.
“Sleepy Joe Biden was by far the worst president in American history.” it is read.
He also falsely accuses Biden of winning the “most corrupt election in history” and claims he made “unprecedented use of autopen.” There are references to “severe mental deterioration,” “the Biden crime family,” and their “radical left handlers” in Biden’s license plate too.
Trump, of course, received two portraits and plaques for his victories in 2016 and 2025, and one plaque boasts of being responsible for “the largest economy in the history of the world.”
As expected, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told NBC News that Trump played a major role in drafting the license plates.
“The plaques are eloquently written descriptions of each president and the legacy they left behind,” he said. “As a student of history, many were written directly by the president himself.”
