Former FBI Director James Comey has reportedly been subpoenaed in connection with a “grand conspiracy” case against former officials who investigated and prosecuted President Donald Trump.

The subpoena, part of an investigation led by a Trump-appointed federal prosecutor in Florida, is one of more than 130 filed since last year, Axios first reported Thursday, citing sources with knowledge of the situation.

The subpoena was also confirmed to NBC and News by similar sources.

The investigation centers on an earlier investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and other Trump-related prosecutions, according to NBC.

Jason A. Reding Quiñones, who was sworn in as federal prosecutor for the Southern District of Florida in August, is reportedly leading the investigation. His office did not immediately respond to News themezone’s request for comment on Friday.

The investigation follows repeated failed attempts by the Trump administration to successfully prosecute Trump’s political enemies as part of a retaliation campaign.

Trump publicly lashed out at Attorney General Pam Bondi in September for a lack of progress.

“What’s up with Comey, Adam ‘Shifty’ Schiff, Leticia???” published in Truth Social, referring to Senator Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) and New York Attorney General Letitia James.

“We cannot delay any longer, it is destroying our reputation and credibility,” he wrote. “I was accused twice and accused (five times!), FOR NOTHING. JUSTICE MUST BE DONE, NOW!!!”

Criminal charges were filed against Comey and James last fall but were later dismissed by a judge who concluded that the prosecutor behind the allegations had been illegally appointed.

Comey’s representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
