Jay Leno believes that politics in comedy is a recipe for disaster
Jay Leno believes that comedy has become too political for her own good.
During an interview with the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation & Institute that came out on Sunday, the former presenter of “The Tonight Show” explained why he believes that leaning too much to the left or the right has put the comics in what he said that “it was not a very good situation.”
While Leno said he did not oppose a political phrase, he told the president of the Foundation, former Lockheed Martin executive, David Trulio, who these days, the comics run the risk of alienating his audience by having too much ideological inclination.
“I like to think that people come to a comedy program to get away from things, you know, the pressures of life or whatever,” he said. “And I love political humor, do not misunderstand, but what happens is that people end up welcoming too much to one side or another.”
“I don’t think anyone wants to listen to a conference,” he added.

Leno approached the practical traps of just taking photos aside, wondering: “Why shoot for half of a audience? Why not try to get the whole? I like to take people to the general landscape.”
“I don’t understand why you would alienar a particular group,” the veteran standing. “Or do not do it at all. I don’t say you have to launch your support or whatever, but just do the fun.”
During his career at star schedule, which lasted more than two decades, Leno said he enjoyed being criticized by Republicans and Democrats … sometimes about the same exact jokes.
“It was fun for me when I received letters of hatred: ‘You and your Republican friends” [or] “Well, I hope you and your democratic friends are happy” … about the same joke, “he recalled.
“I go, ‘Well, that’s good’. This is how you get a complete audience. [Nowadays]you should be content with half of the audience because you have to give your opinion. “
Leno’s comments are in the midst of questions about whether the “show late” Stephen Colbert presenter was canceled for political reasons.

News that his program was coming out of the air was announced not long after aiming the parent company of its News network, Paramount, after he agreed to donate millions to the future presidential library of President Donald Trump, while he was in the midst of trying to make his administration approve a fusion with the giant entertainment sky.
In a statement, News argued that the cancellation of “The Late Show” was “purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in Late Night” and “not related in any way to the performance, content or other issues of the program that occur in Paramount.”
