Vice President JD Vance supported his full support behind the deadly military strike of President Donald Trump in an alleged boat smuggling boat in the Caribbean this week, saying that he didn’t even care if people called him a war crime.
“Killing poster members who poison our fellow citizens is the greatest and best use of our military,” Vance wrote on Saturday in X.
The political commentator Brian Krassenstein responded to say that “killing the citizens of another nation who are civilians without the due process is called a war crime.” Several experts in international law and the laws of war have also said that the strike could be considered a war crime.
“I don’t care shit,” the vice president replied.
Trump said Tuesday that the boat, a quadruple boat that transported 11 people, was “positively identified” as part of a Aragua train operation. Trump appointed the Venezuelan gang as a terrorist organization almost immediately after resuming the position, and affirms, with little evidence, that its members are working directly with the Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro to provide the Americans with mortal illegal drugs.
Trump published a military video in Truth Social that shows that the boat accelerates until it is affected by a projectile and is left on flames.
Critics, however, doubt both the legality of Trump’s strike and if there were actually drugs in the boat.
The boat carried an unusually high number of people for its size, which suggests that it could have been in the process of smuggling people in the United States.
Even if it were a drug smuggling operation, it is not clear if the occupants had the opportunity to surrender before being beaten.
Typically, the United States Coast Guard intercepts alleged drug confusion ships seen along the coast, taking advantage of smuggling and stopping the smuggers. As recently as Friday, the Coast Guard announced that it had taken more than 40,000 pounds of cocaine in the Pacific Ocean during the last month.

In X, Vance added a third publication to his brief thread on the strike.
“Democrats: let’s send their children to die in Russia. Republicans: we actually protect our people from Earth’s scum,” he wrote.
(His claim on Democrats who wish to send Americans to fight in Russia is not based on reality. Vance opposes more American help to Ukraine to help Ukrainian troops fight against Russian invaders).

The Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, also defended the administration this week, saying that the attack was necessary and “will happen again” in the future because Venezuela will not work with the United States to end smuggling.
