JD Vance pays tribute to
Vice President JD Vance paid tribute to his “true friend” Charlie Kirk, who was killed while talking at a university campus event in Utah on Wednesday.
In a long publication about X, previously Twitter, Vance talked about Kirk’s role in his political ascent, supporting his 2022 Senate campaign in Ohio, presenting him to Donald Trump Jr. and then advocate because he was the fellow of Donald Trump’s formula in 2024.
Vance recalled that his friendship began after Kirk sent him a direct message about X, praising his performance in an interview with the then News Tucker Carlson news presenter in 2017.
“Charlie was fascinated by ideas and always willing to learn and change his mind,” Vance said. “Like me, he was skeptical of Donald Trump in 2016. Like me, he came to see President Trump as the only figure capable of moving away American politics from globalism he had dominated throughout our lives.”
Vance, who described Kirk as a “true friend,” said the right -wing political activist won the confidence and love of “people at the highest level of our government,” since he recognized Kirk’s instrumental role for both Trump to re -elect in 2024, and to help the president to put together his new team.
“Much of the success we have had in this administration directly draws Charlie’s ability to organize and convene,” Vance wrote. “Not only did it help us win in 2024, but it helped us personnel from all over the government.”

Trump Jr., who described Kirk as a “little brother for me,” published a message with similar issues, writing that “there is no doubt that Charlie’s work and his voice helped my father win the presidency. He changed the direction of this nation.”
“Charlie was never a threat to anyone,” Trump Jr. wrote in X. “He was civil, he was kind, heard and responded with respect. The only ‘threat’ he presented was that he was incredibly effective. He was a powerful messenger of truth, and people heard that truth. That is what made him a goal.”

Vance said he learned about the shooting while he was at a West Wing meeting.
“I picked up a lot during the next hour, since the first good news and then bad entered,” Vance said. “God did not respond to those prayers, and that’s fine. He had other plans.”
“You ran a good career, my friend. We have it from here.”
