JD Vance turns Trump story into a below-the-belt boast
Vice President JD Vance slipped a not-so-subtle boast about his anatomy into a story about shoes during a Christmas party at his Washington, D.C., residence on Friday.
Trying to give guests a glimpse into the “behind-the-scenes moments” he shares with President Donald Trump, Vance launched into an absurd anecdote from earlier in the day.
According to the former senator, he and Secretary of State Marco Rubio were in the Oval Office discussing a “really important” issue when Trump abruptly changed course.
“The president raises his hand and says, ‘No, no, no, wait a minute. There’s something much more important: the shoes,'” Vance recalled.

Trump then allegedly pulled out a shoe catalog, criticized their footwear, and announced that he would give them each four pairs. Another unnamed politician was also in the room, a detail that Vance anticipated would soon matter.
“He says, ‘Marco, what’s your shoe size?’ And Marco is apparently 11 and a half years old. He says, ‘JD, what’s your shoe size?’ “My shoe size is 13,” the vice president said.
Vance claimed that the third politician admitted to wearing a size seven, apparently prompting the president to “lean back in his chair” and joke: “You know, you can tell a lot about a man by his shoe size.”
Making sure no one missed what he was trying to imply, he then gestured toward his wife, Usha Vance, and added, “We won’t be asking the second lady to comment on that particular issue.”
