Jeff Daniels destroys Trump exactly why everything that happens to us

The Emmy winning actor recently sat on the “The Best People” podcast of the MSNBC presenter, Nicolle Wallace, to narrate his historical career, but turned to discuss Trump’s re -election, the “collapse” of the Republican party and what he feels has lost in the process.

“We have lost decency, we have lost courtesy, we have lost respect for the rule of law, we lost it,” Daniels said during the podcast. “We have normalized verbal abuse on the Internet. We have normalized bullying; so the Woke generation tried to change that, has returned.”

He added: “I mean, nobody has great things to say about politicians. They have never done so. Back to Mark Twain. But ideally, we are supposed to choose the best. It’s not the worst of us. He is all that is wrong not only in the United States but with being a human being.”

Daniels continued arguing that traits such as character and integrity, that politicians were once forced to exhibit to be chosen, are now “out of the window”, and that the era of the respectable Republican leaders such as former President Ronald Reagan is in “our distant past.”

The actor recalled the “curious” lack of transparency with respect to Trump’s private meeting in 2018 with Russian president Vladimir Putin in Helsinki, whose content remains unknown, and said Trump left the room “as a child who had been scolded.”

Daniels then regretted former Vice President Kamala Harris losing the 2024 elections.

“But the collapse of the Republican Party, knee, you know,” he told Wallace. “I still think of Kamala and how I think she would have been a good option. I don’t care what they say. Because she would have done what [former President Abraham] Lincoln did.

Daniels said Harris would have been ruled in a similar way, with a “rivals team” instead of sycophantes in his cabinet. The Lincoln approach became narrated in Lincoln Biography in 2005 by author Doris Kearns Goodwin, “Rivals team.”

“That is what Lincoln did, he surrounded himself with people who would not agree with him,” Daniels told Wallace. “Not the people who kneel and leave, ‘yes, more rates, Lord, more’. It is the madness of King Jorge and only the deterioration of the Republican Party.”

The actor said that most voters who do not support Trump are “ready” to live in a country “that is diverse and treat all with respect and dignity”, but that the Republican party has fallen at the top of their policies precisely to prevent that vision from flourishing.

“I mean, the tariffs are going to hurt your neighbors. They will hurt,” Wallace told Daniels.

“Which, I think, at the end of the day, that is what will do it,” Daniels replied. “Do you just have to go, ‘Wait a minute, the edible invoice is what? One hundred eighty dollars. I can’t get that car we have to have unless we pay another eight thousand

Daniels then replied: “A person.”
