Jimmy Fallon mourns his Golden Retriever in so much detail it will make you want a dog

Gary seemed like a really good girl.

On Monday, J.immy fallon published a post on his Instagram says she announces the death of her “first baby”: her family’s beloved English cream golden retriever, Gary.

However, what sets the “Tonight Show” host’s tribute post apart from most is the intimate details Fallon poured into it.

Her descriptions are so vivid that if you’re reading this with others, you might have to blame allergies for all the tears that are about to well up in your eyes.

Or, if you’ve never had a dog, this may tempt you to finally get your own four-legged furball.

“She was the last name we signed on every birthday card,” Fallon began a carousel post featuring photos of Gary on the beach, as a puppy, rolling on his back and joking with the family.

“She was our first baby, a therapist, a pillow, a big sister, a teacher, a comedian, a party girl and a rebel,” he wrote in the caption.

However, Fallon didn’t hesitate to detail some of Gary’s flaws.

“Definitely not a guard dog; she would have let the thieves in and shown them where we kept the slices of bacon and American cheese,” he joked.

But that didn’t stop him from being a truly sweet little baby angel.

“Always smiling even in his sleep. He loved a good scratch and would lean in to you if he liked you, although ‘yes’ is generous; he did this for basically everyone,” Fallon wrote.

The “Saturday Night Live” alum went on to describe how Gary was a true “rebellious party girl.”

“She would jump in the pool right after being shampooed and dried (nooooo!), then do her laps (backstroke, jk dog paddle) and then lay on the grass on her back doing bunny kicks with her tongue out,” Fallon wrote. “That meant summer to me.”
