Jimmy Kimmel had nothing but gratitude for his biggest adversary at the Critics Choice Awards on Sunday night.

The late-night TV host thanked none other than President Donald Trump during his speech accepting the award for best talk show.

Trump, of course, publicly praised the Sinclair television network when Kimmel’s show was taken off the air after he criticized the reaction to Charlie Kirk’s death.

Kimmel began his speech by joking that “a FIFA peace prize would have been better, but this is nice too.”

“Thank you to all the writers, actors, producers and union members, so many of you who are in this room, who supported us, who really stepped up for us and reminded us that we don’t take free speech for granted in this city or in this country,” Kimmel said during his speech Sunday.

He added that his “actions were important and we appreciate them.”

“Most of all, I want to thank our president, Donald Jennifer Trump, without whom we would return home empty-handed tonight,” the comedian joked.

“So thank you, Mr. President, for all the ridiculous things you do every day,” he said. “It’s been an exceptional couple of weeks and we can’t wait to get back on air tomorrow night to talk about it.”

Trump has repeatedly called for Kimmel to be taken off the air forever, as the two men have publicly traded barbs for months.

Despite the president’s wishes, Disney won’t be letting Kimmel go anytime soon. Bloomberg reported in early December that Disney’s ABC Network renewed its contract with Kimmel for at least another year, and that he will remain on the air until May 2027.
