John Mulaney hits violent threats against Olivia Munn for Mrs. Rachel Viral Comment
John Mulaney is flying to critics who sent “violent” threats to his wife, Olivia Munn, for his viral comments about children’s shows and the famous YouTube star, Mrs. Rachel.
“An innocent comment that my wife Olivia Munn made about the programs of children who like in some way, incredibly, has combined with not worrying about the death of children in Gaza,” he wrote in an Instagram story on Wednesday.
The comedian called the vicious threats that Munn and his two young children, Malcolm and Méi, have been bombarded with “absolutely crazy.”
“Because of this, my wife and my two children now receive violent and threatening comments and messages in their DM,” Mulaney continued. “This is absolutely crazy and needs to stop.”
Mulaney, who married Munn in 2024, went on to hit Internet critics for transforming a comment that meant “nothing” into a “dark and dangerous place.”
He added: “People who do this are so out of place and are so useless for any conversation. You took a comment to a dark and dangerous place. This type of behavior is not activism.”

Munn confessed in a People interview, published on June 8, that “these children’s shows are driving me crazy”, for which he faced Swift Racklash online.

The comment of the “New Girl” star caused an online stir that Mrs. Rachel, whose real name is Rachel Griffin-Acccupo, responded to the uproar.
“Who cares? She wrote on an Instagram post along with news snapshots about Munn’s statement.
The YouTube star clarified that she “is not against” Munn.
“Not against her at all and I don’t care that I don’t want to see the program, all my love for her and her family, disappointed with the points of sale,” he added.
Meanwhile, Munn approached the reaction and issued an apology.
“For Mrs. Rachel and her fans, I listen and respect the passion behind her support. I never anticipated that the media would release a little thing I said and distort it as they did,” he began in his Instagram story, Buzzfeed reports.
Munn said that “comments were never intended to reduce the joy, comfort and impact it brings to so many families.”
The star added: “Every father understands the importance of finding a significant program that helps us connect with our children. I do not want something taken from context to be a moment that steals even a minute of joy for anyone.”
