Johnny Depp believes that the accusations of abuse against him were a trial for the #MeToo movement.

Calling the consequences of its 2016 divorce with Amber heard a heating for cultural calculation around misogyny and culture of rape, the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star told The Sunday Times that it was “a shock test doll.”

“I was before #Metoo,” he said. “It was like a shock test doll for #Metoo.”

The comparison occurred when Depp complained about those who made it “dirty” and refused to support him publicly after the accusations of domestic abuse of Heart.

The “Aquaman” actor first accused Depp of being “verbally and physically” in a request for a restriction order of May 2016 presented only one week after initiating the divorce procedures.

The #MeToo movement would take over a year later, caused by revelations about the history of sexual abuse and coercion of film producer Harvey Weinstein.

During the #Metoo media, the dispute between Depp and heard became an intense legal battle about whether he had defamed his ex by describing herself as a survivor of domestic abuse in an opinion article of 2018 for the Washington Post.

When the case went to trial in 2022, Heard was considered responsible for three charges of defamation and was ordered to pay the actor of “Edward Scissorhands” millions in damages.

Although Depp was also considered responsible for one of the three defamation claims included in the Heard accountant, the jury’s decision claimed it largely in the Public Opinion Court.

Now that more than three years of the trial, the star of “crying baby” says that “he does not regret” of what happened following his breakup of Heard.

“I know who I am, what it was and, look, it was a learning experience,” he told The Sunday Times.
