Josh Shapiro offers a blunt answer after Kamala Harris admits that Bidens’s health was delayed
The governor of Pennsylvania, Josh Shapiro (D), said that Vice President Kamala Harris “will have to respond to how” she never expressed her concerns about her former boss, Joe Biden, the aptitude to serve as president, although she had a front row in her administration. (Watch the video below).
In an interview with Stephen A. Smith published on Thursday, Shapiro was asked to evaluate Harris’s recent evaluation that he was wrong to stop advising Biden not to follow another presidential career.
“Look, I have not read the book of the former vice president,” Shapiro said about Harris. “She will have to answer how she was in the room and, nevertheless, she never said anything publicly.”

Shapiro emphasized that he did not have the same access to Biden as Harris, but still committed to him and his team regarding the performance of his campaign in Pennsylvania, a swing state.
“I think Stephen, you understand, if you can’t win Pennsylvania, it is quite difficult to win the national elections,” said Shapiro. “And I was very vocal with him in private, and extremely vocal with his staff about my concerns about his physical condition to be able to run for another term. I was direct with them.”
Shapiro suggested that the Biden team did not give the former president a precise image of his performance projected in the state.
“I told them what I was seeing in the polls. I think it seemed to me that perhaps his staff did not advise all the information we knew in the field here in Pennsylvania,” Shapiro added.

In his new book that will be published next week, Harris admitted that it was a mistake to rest the call on whether Biden would apply for re -election only for him and his wife, Jill.
“‘It is Joe and Jill’s decision. “Was it grace, or was it imprudence? In retrospect, I think it was reckless. The bets were simply too high. This was not an choice that should have left the ego of an individual, the ambition of an individual. It should have been more than a personal decision.”
Even so, Harris made it clear that he did not believe that Biden was not suitable for serving despite his low performance in the debate against Donald Trump in June 2024, which brought a wave of calls to get out of the race.
“I don’t think it was inability. If I believed that, I would have said it. As loyal as I am with President Biden, I am more loyal to my country,” he said.
Meanwhile, in a separate extract from his next memories, Harris confirmed that he considered that Shapiro was his formula partner, but said that “he had the concern that he could not settle for a role like number two and that it would be used in our association.” He also said that in the process, the governor bombarded his staff with questions about the residence of the vice president and said he showed “lack of discretion” in the period prior to his announcement of vice presidential selection.
A Shapiro spokesman told Politico: “It is simply ridiculous to suggest that Governor Shapiro focused on anything other than defeating Donald Trump and protecting Pennsylvania from chaos that we are living now.”
Shapiro, who is widely considered a presidential hope of 2028, did not rule out the White House race in the next elections.

“I worry what I am seeing in my group, and I know that I have a voice that needs to be heard in that process, how that voice is heard, how it manifests, what I finally do, we will see,” Shapiro told Smith.
Harris has not closed the door to launch another presidential career in 2028.
