Former Vice President Kamala Harris fumed about President Donald Trump’s distorted priorities as she talked about how Democrats must find a way to change “the status quo” without bringing down the system.

Asked if Democrats could learn anything from Trump’s bulldozer approach to reshaping the government during Thursday’s episode of Jon Stewart’s “The Weekly Show” podcast, Harris said, “It’s important that we don’t conflate disruption with destruction.”

While he said “disruption is important,” he questioned how “destruction by some grand gesture of ‘Look what I can do quickly overnight and just get rid of something’” without plans for “what it’s actually going to do to improve people’s lives” could be productive.

Harris also took a moment to criticize the president for focusing on White House renovations while food benefit funds are about to run out, asking him, “Are you kidding me?”

“This guy wants to create a ballroom for his rich friends while turning a blind eye to the fact that babies are going to starve when SNAP benefits end in just a few hours,” Harris added, furious.

Although outraged, the 2024 Democratic presidential contender told Stewart that her party cannot let Trump’s political antics divert its attention from finding concrete ways to confront Americans’ real struggles.

“I’m not going to get distracted by oh, does the guy have a big fucking hammer?” she said. “What’s up with those babies?”

Meanwhile, the Trump administration has been overseeing the demolition of the East Wing of the White House, which is scheduled to be replaced by a 90,000-square-foot ballroom estimated to cost $300 million.
