Karine Jean-Pierre reveals what she thought the 2024 elections would be like: the truth was
Karine Jean-Pierre, White House press secretary during Joe Biden’s presidency, admitted that she did not believe Kamala Harris would defeat Donald Trump in 2024.
“The truth is, I never believed Harris could win,” Jean-Pierre wrote in his new book “Independent,” according to News. “I had been in a black woman’s body my entire life. I stood on the podium in the White House briefing room, traveled in my chocolate skin through rural towns, and all my experiences of scorching stares and racist assumptions left me unable to see this country electing a president who looked like me.”
Jean-Pierre said in the book, published Tuesday, that he wanted to be optimistic.
“Harris and many others had fought and waited so long,” he wrote, according to the conservative outlet. “I wanted to believe. I wanted to believe. But in the end, I was proven right. America just wasn’t there yet.”
Trump swept key battleground states and also captured the popular vote in a victory that Harris questionably called “the closest presidential election of the 21st century.”

In her recent book, “107 Days,” Harris said one of the turning points of her campaign was when she said on “The View” that she wouldn’t do anything different than what Biden had done.
“I had no idea I had just taken the pin off a hand grenade,” Harris wrote.

Jean-Pierre had already made headlines for defending Biden’s mental acuity in his book. But doubts fueled by his faltering debate against Trump led him to drop out and endorse Harris as the Democratic candidate.
“It was deeply disturbing that after brushing aside Biden in a disgraceful display, party elders couldn’t muster enough knowledge to help a smart, accomplished lawyer like Harris defeat an ignorant former reality TV star,” he wrote. “The party had to redefine its mission and find a way to move forward without publicly trashing our standard-bearers or leaving their successors hanging in the wind.”
