Kate Middleton opens about cancer recovery after abruptly retiring from the real event
Kate Middleton continued her gradual return to public tasks this week with a sincere admission about her cancer recovery.
The Princess of Wales visited the Colchester Hospital of England on Wednesday, where she spoke extensively about the “roller coaster” that she experienced in the year after going over with her diagnosis of cancer.
“You put a kind of brave face, stoicism through treatment. The treatment is made, so it is like, ‘I can break, return to normal’, but in reality, the phase later is really, very difficult,” he said, as seen in the images of the event shared by “Good Morning America” and other means.

“You are not necessarily under the clinical team, but you cannot work normally at home as you may get away,” he added. “And in reality, someone to help you talk about that, show and guide you through that type of phase that comes after treatment, I think it’s really valuable.”
In another part of his comments, Middleton alluded to the challenges of finding “his new normality” after undergoing treatment.
“It’s a roller coaster, it’s not soft, as you expect it,” he said. “But the reality is that you go through difficult times.”
The visit of the Princess of Wales coincided with the opening of the Welfare Garden of the Colchester Hospital, announced as a “restorative space” for those who work or visit the hospital. She helped plant several “Rose de Catherine” plants that were donated to the facilities for the occasion.

Middleton became public with his diagnosis of cancer in March 2024. Although he has never clarified what type of cancer he had, he confirmed in September that he had completed chemotherapy. In January, she shared that her cancer was in remission.

His appearance at the Colchester Hospital occurs only a few weeks after he canceled the plans to attend Royal Ascot, a five -day horsepower racing series, next to the husband Prince William and other members of the British royal family.
Later, a real source told ABC News that Middleton was “disappointed not to be there today, but she has to find the right balance as she returns completely to the public’s commitments.”
