Katie Miller made fun of her

On Monday, Katie Miller inadvertently betrayed her ignorance about one of the most basic ideas upon which the United States was founded, confusing “classical liberal democracy” with the supposed horrors of a “woke” and “deeply leftist” ideology in a failed attempt to attack someone.

That particular someone was Anthropic co-founder Chris Olah, who promised in X that his AI security company remains committed to “the principles of classical liberal democracy,” and specifically freedom of expression, human dignity and the rule of law.

Katie Miller, wife of White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller, didn’t take it that way.

The conservative podcast host, who served as deputy press secretary at the Department of Homeland Security under President Donald Trump during his first term, was brutally mocked on X for her apparent lack of understanding, or intentional misinterpretation.

“I don’t know what would be worse between Katie Miller not knowing what liberal democracy is or her admitting that she thinks it’s a bad thing,” one user wrote on

Miller has revealed his ignorance on several occasions before. Just last week he attempted to embarrass California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) over his upcoming trip to the World Economic Forum in Switzerland, apparently unaware that Trump would also be attending.

Olah cited the shooting death of Alex Pretti on Saturday as the impetus for his position, as a “federal agent killing an ICU nurse for seemingly no reason and without provocation” served to “shock the conscience.”

“My deep loyalty is to the principles of classical liberal democracy: freedom of expression, the rule of law, the dignity of the human person,” he wrote. “I immigrated to the United States, and practically co-founded Anthropic here, believing it was a pillar of these principles.”

“Yes, we are well aware that you and your husband hate America’s system of liberal democracy, which is based on free elections, the rule of law, equal rights, and freedom of speech, assembly, press, and religion,” wrote “Pod Save America” co-host Jon Favreau.

Unfortunately for Miller, there was a lot more where that came from.
