Kelly Clarkson is excited after Sterling K. Brown shares a story behind her second name

In the video, published on the YouTube page of “The Kelly Clarkson Show”, Brown and Clarkson made an emotional trip together, caused by the actor’s decision to begin to be sent to Kelby, his second name, instead of Sterling.

During the interview, Clarkson shared that it was a feeling that she understood too well, like her son, Remington Alexander Blackstock had done something similar to her.

“My son did this, on a red carpet,” Clarkson said, adding that an interviewer had asked his son his name in the Grammys.

The singer of “Since you have been” revealed that his son chose to use his second name as his last name and go for “Remington Alexander”, a movement that surprised her, since it was the first time she had said it out loud.

Clarkson’s response to his son? “Is this your artistic name?”

The question led Brown to share the story behind his name.

“I went for my second name. I went for Kelby to 16 years,” he confessed. “My dad’s name is Sterling Brown Jr., Sterling Brown Mr. De Mi Granduelo, [and] I’m Sterling Kelby Brown. ”

The “Paradise” actor explained that he wanted to carve his own identity, especially because he thought that “Sterling” was “the name of an old man.” But the conversation took a moving turn when Brown revealed that his father had died when he was only 10 years old.

Brown continued to say that when he was 16 he had not heard his father’s name for more than five years, and shared how he simply longed for “listening to that name again.”

This led the actor to claim “Sterling” as his name, a moment that deeply moved Clarksson.

“That was so sweet and beautiful,” Clarkson shared emotionally.
