Kumail Nanjiani was tickled to discover that he had been the subject of some absurd gossip this year.

During an episode of comedian Caleb Hearon’s “So True” podcast that aired Thursday, the “Eternals” star and comedian addressed a ridiculous rumor that he was having an affair with former first lady Michelle Obama.

After receiving a “Congratulations!” in a joking tone. Of Hearon, Nanjiani openly admitted that the whispers made him “very excited.”

Apparently, the fake tea even seemed plausible enough that a mutual friend of the “Silicon Valley” star and his wife, Emily Gordon, dared to take her “to the side” and say, “Hey, I heard Kumail and Michelle Obama are doing it.”

The idea was so ridiculous that Gordon “didn’t even bother,” according to her husband.

“Several people mentioned it to me,” Nanjiani continued, adding the final trick by revealing, “I’ve never met Michelle Obama.”

Hearon then told his guest how their imaginary romance was developing alongside “persistent” rumors about a secret relationship between President Barack Obama and actress Jennifer Aniston.

The gossip was news to the “Big Sick” actor, who asked Hearon if he thought it was true or not.

“I don’t know, but what I’m saying is, from my point of view, Kumail, you’re right up there with Jen Aniston in terms of affair rumors,” the host responded.

“I don’t know, I think Michelle is slumming it,” joked Nanjiani, whose Hulu special “Night Thoughts” is available now.
