Pop singer Lance Bass and her husband Michael Turchin are marking his tenth wedding anniversary, and a decade since marriage equality became the law of the earth in the United States, with a bittersweet note.

The two men Grace the cover of the last magazine Love Inc., launched this week before the month LGBTQ+ Pride in June. In the attached interview, the couple reflects on their nuptials of December 2014, which were televised in an e! Special that was broadcast about two months later. It was the first wedding of the same sex to be televised in an important television network.

“At first, we didn’t want to do it at all. We were like, reality TV … is the kiss of death“, Recalled Turchin, actor and visual artist.” And then we realized that there is a greater purpose. It is not about us; It’s about showing this. ”

Under added: “It has been a struggle to have equality for everyone else, and be a public figure, a gay public figure, it was important for us to share our love message. Although matrimonial equality was legalized throughout the country only a few months after their wedding, both Bass and Turchin say they are deeply concerned about a reversal of LGBTQ+ rights under President Donald Trump. As a result, the couple has begun to hide the faces of their 3 -year -old twins, Alexander and Violet, on social networks.

“I didn’t think that in 2025 we would still be fighting. It’s ridiculous,” Bass told The Outlet. “The pendulum swing forward, and now it is going back. But the amount of hatred we feel today? It is worse than 10 years ago. This is the first time I really felt danger, and I didn’t feel that 10 years ago.”

TURCHIN ADDED: “[The LGBTQ+ community] It is a very strong community. A community of combatants. ”

Bass, who jumped to fame as a member of the Band of Boys *NSync, came out as Gay in a 2006 people interview. He and Turchin were presented at a friend’s birthday party in 2011 and began to leave shortly after. They committed themselves in 2013.

“I think the evolution of our love has become more an association,” Bass told E! News in February. “I finally found someone that I can say that it is my partner in life. I love him very much. But he goes beyond that.”

He also hinted that potentially expanding to his family, pointing out: “My own orphanage would begin. I would love to have so many children and bring children to help them find them families.”
