Liv and Mia Tyler remember discovering that they were sisters at Aerosmith concert
Liv and Mia Tyler can be sisters, but they were not aware of their family connection for much of their early childhood.
The media brothers, who share Father Steven Tyler, the leader of the legendary Rock Aerosmith band, are opening on the experience of meeting for the first time when they accompanied their respective mothers to one of his father’s concerts.
“I think I was 8 years old and I was 9 years old,” Liv Tyler recalled, whose mother is baby Buell, in Monday’s episode “Sibling Revellry” organized by Kate and Oliver Hudson.
According to Mia Tyler, whose mother is Cyrinda Newse, others who saw the two girls rushed to notice their similarities. “I remember there were no children behind the stage,” he said. “And we were in this VIP area, outside the green rooms, and we were, you know, doing our 8 and 9 year old, and this fanatic lady appeared, and she said: ‘Oh my God, you, you, girls, are so beautiful. Are you sisters?’ … And I was like, ‘Yes!’ And we pretended that we were sisters. ”
Liv Tyler echoed those feelings, pointing out that seeing his sister in the program was “literally how to look in the mirror, see your double.” Then, he said, his mother “took me to a bank” and “he told me the whole story in the most sincere and beautiful way.”

In another part of the chat, Liv Tyler, who was raised mainly by his maternal relatives, recalled how he had been led to believe that his father was another famous musician, the leader of utopia, Todd Rundgren. In fact, it was Rundgren who signed the birth certificate of Liv Tyler, since he was dating Buell and Steven Tyler was looking for treatment for drug addiction at that time.
“It is probably still very hard and painful, and I don’t talk enough. I love him,” he said about Rundgren. “He took care of me [if] He was dad. He was always on tour, and he was traveling … he had another partner and two children. So I would visit them and make trips with them. “
As adults, Liv and Mia Tyler have approached, and each one takes away a niche in Hollywood.
