Lizzo simply took a moment to affirm the transgender community in a way that not only supported them but also gave them life.

During a recent interview on the red carpet at the GQ Men of the Year 2025 party, Lizzo was asked if she had a “word for dolls.”

“Protect them!” Lizzo exclaimed in a clip posted to Instagram on Thursday.

Then, the artist refrained from becoming too “political.” The interviewer then turned and asked Lizzo if she had any words of support for any dolls she might be looking at.

“The best thing you can be in this world is yourself,” he said. “No matter what you have to do or who the fuck you have to ignore or what boundary you have to overcome to be yourself, do it. It’s worth it, baby on the other side.”

The shirt was notably worn by Pedro Pascal earlier this year after Britain’s highest court ruled “that a woman is someone who is born biologically female, excluding transgender people from the legal definition.”

“Listen, I want to protect the people I love,” said Pascal, whose brother Lux Pascal is a transgender actor and activist.

“But it goes beyond that,” he continued. “Bullies make me fucking sick.”
